The novel revolves around a political leader Fateh and a con artist Talia Murad. Over a period of twenty episodes, the reader learns about the characters, their lives, their pains and fears, their strenghts and skills. Readers also learn how they overcome the obstacles in life.
The novel, for me, is not just a piece of fiction. It tells you, through a very gripping story, to become a strong person.
It teaches us to have faith in destiny and the almighty.
It teaches us to admit our mistakes and move on.
It teaches us to believe in ourselves. Whatever we know, will work for us, even if it seems little and insignificant.
It teaches us to repent our sins whenever we realize our mistakes.
It teaches us that sticking to the righteous path is much easier than we think it to be.
It teaches us about friendship.
And, it is one hell of a love story.
The characters
Talia Murad (Taasha): The protagonist. I like her so much, cuz she is everything that I wanted to be when I was a little girl. She is smart, she is slim, she knows how to dress, she can kill with her words, and on and on.
But, she is still human. She gets her heart broken. She feels betrayed. She doubts her friends. She is so cool. And also, hot.Layana Sabri (Daatin): The ever-loyal friend in need. One thing I like the best about her is that she is an avid reader. #metoo in the most innocent way, OKAY. And, she is a foodie. #metoo, again :)
Won Fateh Ramzal: Oh my my... If I wasn't a Jihan Sikandar fan, I would have fallen for Fateh. But wait, Faris Ghazi is second in line, so never mind.
Fateh is a politician - the good politician in the beginning but he is shown to have been the victim of the politics too.
Of the many lines and paragraphs that are quotable, my favourite is simple.
"Ek larka aur larki dost ho sakte hain, lekin unn mein si kisi ek ko dusre se mohabbat ho jati hai."
Or something to that effect.
Adam Bin Mohammad: The man who rises from self-doubt to the cool author. Super cool character.
Asra Mahmood (The Evil Queen):
She is the evil queen from Snow White. That's a spoiler.
Ashar Mahmood:
He is Asra's sister. He goes through a sine wave of good and bad. Initially, he is very loyal Fateh fan and works for him. Later, his father plants a seed in his mind that he should fight for the power, and not just be a 'wingman'.
